Overview
The Inventory & Procurement Executive is responsible for managing and optimizing the organization's inventory levels while ensuring timely procurement of necessary goods and services. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management principles and a keen eye for cost-effective solutions.
Inventory Management:
Oversee and optimize inventory levels to ensure efficient operations and minimize stock outs.
Develop and implement inventory control strategies, including forecasting, replenishment planning, and cycle counting.
Monitor inventory performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
Procurement:
Identify and source reliable vendors for goods and services, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable deals.
Manage the procurement process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
Supply Chain Optimization:
Analyze supply chain processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
Implement initiatives to improve supply chain performance, such as lead time reduction, transportation optimization, and risk management.
Vendor Development:
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, fostering collaboration and trust.
Evaluate vendor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Cost Management:
Continuously seek ways to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality or service.
Implement cost-saving measures, such as bulk purchasing, standardization, and supplier consolidation.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that procured goods and services meet quality standards and specifications.
Implement quality control measures and monitor product performance.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Hands-on experience in reverse engineering is a must-have for this position.
Proven experience in inventory management and procurement.
Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.
Proficiency in inventory control software and tools.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of Six Sigma quality standards and methodologies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Preferred Skills
Experience in designing and costing products or processes.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Experience in vendor development and relationship management.
